Engineering Research and Development for Technology

The Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) program is a consortium of eight universities offering mature engineering graduate programs— University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), Central Luzon State University (CLSU), University of San Carlos (USC), MSU– Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), MAPUA University (Former MAPUA Institute of Technology) and De La Salle University (DLSU).

The UPLB– CEAT started being a member of the ERDT program in 2009, in the term of Dean Arsenio Resurreccion with then, IAE Director and former Dean of CEAT (2010-2020), Dr. Arnold R. Elepano, as the project leader. The current ERDT Project Leader is the college Dean, Dr. Rossana Marie C. Amongo (2021-present).

CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY

1. Must be a Filipino citizen;
2. Not more than 50 years of age at the start of the program;
3. Must meet the admission requirements of the graduate program supported by ERDT;
4. With a BS/MS degree in engineering or any related field;
5. Must be in good health condition;
6. Must not have any criminal/administrative cases; and
7. Pass the interview and other screening procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Accomplished ERDT Information Sheet;
2. Certified True Copy of the Official Transcript of Records and General Weighted Average (GWA) Certification;
3. Recommendation letters from 3 former professors or supervisors;
4. Photocopy of PSA (NSO) Birth Certificate;
5. Valid NBI clearance;
6. Medical clearance certificate as “fit to study”;
7. A narrative of not more than 1,000 words describing your current work or a project or research that you worked on and your contribution towards the completion of the project;
8. A narrative of not more than 500 words describing what you intend to do (e.g. work, business, etc.) after earning your graduate degree;
9. A narrative describing your intended research area; and
10. If employed, recommendation and permission to take a leave of absence from the employer or head of agency while on scholarship.
